Self-Portrait

http://s1088.photobucket.com/albums/i336/JoannaLimpert/Self%20-%20Portraits/?start=all

1. Why did you select the inspiration pieces?

I picked Andy Warhol because I love his pictures, they just speak to me.
I picked Marie Laurencin because I liked her drawing and it showed me what a drawing should look like.
I picked Karen Heagle because I liked the colors and it was abstract.
I wanted a varied of media's because I didn't know which way to go.

2. Why did you select the media to create your self-portrait?

I chose color pencils becaused I like to work with them and I feel it helps give the picture a realistic look.

3. What challenges did you face in creating your self-portrait and how did you overcome them?

I am not a good drawer and so this picture really was hard for me to do. I tried my best. I tried to overcome but I don't know how well I did.

4. How does this piece represent you?

Well it is suppose to be a portrait of me. Looking at it by the photograph picture you can see some me in it but if you looked at it my itself i think you would have a hard time telling it is me. Like I said I am not a good drawer but I put my all into this picture and hopefully you can see and feel it.

5. What elements and principles of art did you apply in this work?

Color, texture,  and lines.

6. Did you enjoy working on this project?

Yes and no because I like to draw but I am not good at it.

7. What do you think of your final artwork?

It was fun to do.
